Friends with Exes.

And I mean REAL friendship, not this “I don’t have the urge to kill them so I guess we’re cool” fauxship.

Are you friends with any of your exes?

I’m asking because today, my friend-turned-lover-turned-ex-turned-friend hit me up on FB.  We had a nice chat, like we always do, and she told me she loves our friendship and wouldn’t trade it for another one in the world.  We’ve been friends since 1997 and outside of that little hiccup in 2009, we’ve been good.

Out of all my exes, with the exception of the mother of my child, she’s the only one I remain in contact with like that.

So, I pose the question to you guys: are you friends with any of your exes?

(And to stop the question before SOMEONE asks it, because I know one of you will; no, I don’t have any desire to sleep with her again.  Period.)

  6. shlamille said: Nah. Past experience and common sense tell me this is a bad idea. By friend, I mean, favorite companion, not someone that occasionally hits me up or vice versa. Moving forward is the best idea because the relationship ended for a reason/reasons.
